In reply to Amy Beatty. No, it is still a boiler, burning oil. But it makes the most efficient use of that oil by recapturing exhaust heat, heating fresh water only when we use it, and hydraulic balancing of the over 20 radiators in our house from the basement up to the third floor. There is a potential savings on oil of up to 20%. We'll see.

So is this like geothermal? Interested to hear what you think as we have a boiler (natural gas) approaching 30. Doubt it will las as long as the first from 1928
